How would i clean my dooney and burke bag?

it's destroyed...it has black sh*t all over it...i had it hanging in a closet and i think there was something black that dripped on it..but i have a feeling that maybe there is some wonderful miracle cleaner that will get it off! is there? or is this just a feeling I made up. please...I just want to clean it.
